e-Jest Electric Minibus on Display March 25

The e-Jest minibus currently being demoed with the MVTA Connect service will be on display for the public from 10 AM to 1 PM Saturday, March 25, at the Burnsville Transit Station, 100 East Highway 13, Burnsville. Members of the public can stop by and take a tour of the bus inside and out, ask MVTA staff questions, take a picture with an MVTA face cut out (or the e-Jest bus), and the kids can even grab some MVTA coloring sheets.

Minnesota Valley Transit Authority is leading the first ever e-Jest revenue vehicle demo in the United States. The Karsan e-Jest boasts a BMW 100% electric motor with a 130-mile range and the ability to fully charge in four hours. While braking, the vehicle regenerates up to 25% of the kinetic energy and charges the battery, contributing to the impressive range. The 18-passenger vehicle has up to a 12-year lifespan and is compatible with Level 2 AC and DC and Level 3 DC charging, allowing for both advanced and fast charging. The e-Jest is a zero-emission vehicle, helping MVTA chart a course for cleaner public transit solutions.
