Double decker arrives; staging begins Tuesday

An Alexander Dennis double decker bus has arrived in the Twin Cities and will be on display at MVTA stations this week.

The Enviro 500 is 13-feet-6-inches tall, and is in use in cities around the world, including Hong Kong, Singapore, New Zealand and in North American cities, including Seattle, Las Vegas, San Francisco, Toronto, Vancouver and Ottawa.

The Enviro 500 will be on display and open for public review during mornings (7 a.m. – 9 a.m.) and afternoons (4 p.m. – 6 p.m.) at MVTA stations:

  • Tuesday, July 18 – Burnsville Transit Station, 100 East Highway 13, Burnsville.
  • Wednesday, July 19 – Eagan Transit Station, 3470 Pilot Knob Road, Eagan.
  • Thursday, July 20 – Apple Valley Transit Station, 15450 Cedar Avenue South, Apple Valley.
  • Friday, July 21 – Marschall Road Transit Station (morning only), 1615 Weston Court, Shakopee.

MVTA riders are invited to check out the double decker bus and offer their feedback. The first 25 people at each location to complete a quick survey after touring the buses will receive an MVTA swag bag. More information on the buses will be available at the staging locations.
