MVTA’s Spring 2025 Service Changes begin March 17

Starting Monday, March 17, Minnesota Valley Transit Authority will implement its Spring 2025 Service Changes, offering a variety of updates designed to enhance service and improve the rider experience. These changes include the return of the popular 4FUN service, timing updates to several routes, and adjustments to improve access for passengers.
4FUN Service Returns
The 4FUN route, which provides transit service to top local destinations, is back for the 2025 season. Operating Thursdays through Sundays from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m., the route connects major spots including Mall of America, Twin Cities Premium Outlets, Canterbury Park, and Mystic Lake Casino. Riders will also be able to catch the 4FUN bus at Burnsville Transit Station and Marschall Road Transit Station.
The 4FUN service will also begin serving Valleyfair when the theme park opens in May. When it does, minor timing changes will be made to accommodate the new stop. Additionally, a fare of $2 will apply all day, every day on the 4FUN route, making it an affordable and convenient option for passengers.
Route 497: Better Access to St. Francis
Route 497 is receiving an important change to improve service to St. Francis Hospital. The updated routing will serve the hospital on westbound trips, with service now in both directions to St. Francis. A few minor time adjustments will accompany this change to ensure smooth operations.
Minor Timing Adjustments on Express Routes
Several routes, including 460, 465, 470, 472, 475, 477, 480, and 490, will see minor time changes to improve the reliability of schedules. Riders are encouraged to check updated timetables on MVTA’s website for the most accurate departure times.
Downtown St. Paul Stop Changes for Routes 480, 484, and 489
To support recent Metro Transit adjustments, two changes will be made to stops in downtown St. Paul. The drop-off stop at 5th Street and Washington Street SW Corner (#00818) will no longer be in service for routes 480 and 489. Riders are encouraged to use alternative stops at 5th Street and 7th Street W (#11834) or 5th Street and Market Street (#3142). Additionally, the 5th Street at Minnesota Street SW Corner (#00792) stop will be replaced by the 5th Street at Minnesota Street SE Corner (#49397).
Minor Routing Change for Routes 436 and 489
Route 436 and Route 489 will experience a minor routing update around the Thomson Reuters campus, specifically after the Thomson Reuters Main Entrance (#30812). There will be no impact to any stops, but riders should be aware of the small adjustment in the routing.
