Minnesota Valley Transit Authority (MVTA) and Valleyfair will provide free off-site parking and bus service to the Shakopee amusement park during record Minnesota River flooding.

The flooding has impacted parking on site at the amusement park.

Free bus service to Valleyfair is available from four Shakopee locations (Friday, June 28 through Sunday, June 30):

  • Eagle Creek Park and Ride, 6600 Eagle Creek Boulevard.
  • Southbridge Park and Ride, 1401 Crossings Boulevard.
  • Canterbury Park, 1100 Canterbury Road.
  • Marschall Road Transit Station, 1615 Weston Court.

Buses will run every 15 minutes from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. to Valleyfair. Return trips will also run every 15 minutes until 8 p.m. with a late bus returning from Valleyfair to the park and rides at 9:30 p.m.

“Valleyfair is one of the south metro’s premiere entertainment destinations and MVTA is pleased to help people continue to enjoy the amusement park during this flooding event,” said MVTA Chief Development Officer Matt Fyten.

MVTA will continue to run normal routes to Valleyfair and Canterbury Park. MVTA’s 4Fun bus serves Valleyfair, Marschall Road Transit Station and Canterbury Park on Thursdays through Sundays.

Customers catching the buses to/from Eagle Creek Park and Ride, Southbridge Crossings Park and Ride, Marschall Road Transit Station and Canterbury Park should look for head signs on the front of the buses noting the buses are running between the park-and-ride locations and Valleyfair..
