MVTA offering free rides on New Year’s Eve after 6 p.m.

In an effort to ensure our communities ring in 2025 safely and responsibly, MVTA is offering free rides on select fixed route trips and MVTA Connect trips after 6 p.m. Tuesday, December 31.
On fixed route buses, customers will ride for free on all trips listed below.
On MVTA Connect, customers may use a free promo code to pay for their trips between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m.
How to Redeem a Free Ride on MVTA Connect on New Year’s Eve
- Open the RideMVTA App
- If you’re a new MVTA Connect rider, download the free RideMVTA app at the App store or Google Play Store.
- Create an account by providing first name, last name, zip code and phone number.
- On the homepage, tap “Plan Your Trip”
- Enter the address of your destination at the top of the page
- Adjust your departure or arrival time if needed. You can book a ride on New Year’s Eve up to 3 hours before you’d like to depart.
- Select the Connect Ride option for your trip
- Tap “Start Booking”
- Tap “Buy Tickets”
- Choose the number of tickets you need and add them to your cart
- Tap “Enter Promo Code”
- Enter the code NYE2024
- Slide the arrow at the bottom to complete the purchase
- Once the ticket is purchased, tap “Request Ride Now”
- You can track the status of your Connect trip on the home page of the RideMVTA app and you’ll have an active ticket you can show the driver when you board.
- For a return trip back home, book a return ride once you get to your location.
- On the homepage, tap “Plan Your Trip”
- Enter your home address at the top of the page.
- Repeat steps 5 through 12 above.
